RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project Director Masashi Sugiyama was awarded as Fellow in FY 2017 by the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE). The award ceremony took place on March 22 at the 2018 IEICE General Conference.
The IEICE Fellow award is conferred on institute members who have made a major contribution to the institute and have demonstrated academic or technical achievements in the field. In FY 2000, the first year of the award, 144 individuals were selected, and up to FY 2016 the total number of conferees was 862.
