Abstract:
This talk explores the dynamic intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence (AI), emphasizing their symbiotic relationship in driving innovative outcomes. It delves into the multifaceted nature of creativity, categorized into historical, professional, personal, and intrapersonal impacts. The presentation examines the fundamental components necessary for fostering creativity, including motivation, creative skills, and domain-specific expertise. It then transitions to the domain of AI, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs). Through empirical evidence, the talk reveals how AI tools can augment brainstorming, provide comprehensive feedback, and facilitate the realization of complex projects, while also addressing the challenges and ethical considerations in the integration of AI into creative endeavors.

Jennifer Haase is a senior researcher at Humboldt University’s Institute of Computer Science and the Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin, Germany, with a research focus on the relationship between creativity and generative AI.
She holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, a master’s in research methods from Lund University, Sweden, and a doctorate focusing on creativity-intensive business processes from the University of Potsdam, Germany. Her research explores the intersection of human work and technology, particularly the impact of technology on creative thinking, human-automation interaction, and the effective use of generative AI tools.
