At the Atlanta in March 6 – 7, 2018, we hold the 1st Transatlantic-Transpacific Workshop on Machine Learning and Discrete Optimization 2018.
This very first workshop aims to bring together key researchers of the three participating institutions in the US (the Center for Machine Learning at Georgia Institute of Technology), Germany (the Analytics, data and applications Center at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits), and Japan (RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project) to identify research challenges and synergies. A focus is on the combination of machine learning and decision making, in particular on foundational aspects of discrete and structured learning.
The first day is for internal discussions among the three participating institutions, and the second day is an open workshop with oral and poster presentations.
