From Wednesday, September 23 to Friday, September 25, 2026, students and young researchers engaged in machine learning research across Japan gathered for the Young Researchers’ Association for Machine Learning (YAML) 2026, held at Tsukioka Hotel in Kaminoyama Onsen, Yamagata Prefecture.
YAML is a retreat-style workshop that brings together students and early-career researchers in machine learning. Through invited talks, research presentations, discussions, and networking activities, participants deepen their understanding of the field while fostering connections across institutions and research areas. This year, approximately 80 participants attended the event, making it larger than the previous year’s gathering.
