Title: Flagship AI-driven research programs at Italian Institute of Technology (IIT)
Abstract:
In this talk I will briefly present the flagship scientific programs of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) that are currently engaging IIT’s researchers on visionary large-scale collaborations across Research Units and Domains with well-defined ambitious goals. The structure of the flagship programs is consistently AI-driven with topics stemming from sustainability through the data-driven design of new materials, bridging neuroscience and robotics, physics-informed machine learning and new technologies for healthy living. The second part of the talk will deep dive into a recent breakthrough of our flagship program: the development of novel models for the autonomy of humanoid robotic platforms using imitation learning from data collected from our teleoperation systems.
