Overview

In recent years, advances in AI technology have raised growing expectations for AI for Science, which has the potential to transform the way scientific research itself is conducted. In this group, we aim to create new AI technologies by integrating scientific research with AI and by leveraging scientific knowledge and theories. To achieve this, we incorporate not only data but also the theories and laws accumulated in each scientific field, as well as insights obtained from observation, experimentation, and simulation, into the design and training processes of AI models. Through this approach, we develop new AI technologies that enable deeper scientific understanding as well as reliable prediction and reasoning. By tackling challenges across diverse domains―including physics, global environment, life sciences and medicine, and human and social sciences―we aim to contribute to the creation of new methodologies for scientific research.
