The United Nations announced the creation of a new Artificial Intelligence Advisory Body on risks, opportunities and international governance of artificial intelligence at a press conference in New York on October 26, 2023. This body will support the international community’s efforts to govern artificial intelligence.
Arisa Ema, Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo and Visiting Scientist of the AI Utilization in Society and Legal System Team (PI: Hiroshi Nakagawa) at RIKEN AIP has been selected as a member to serve on the United Nation’s AI Advisory Board.
The first meeting of the Body took place on 27 October 2023.
