Tomasz M. RUTKOWSKI, Research Scientist of the Cognitive Behavioral Assistive Technology Team attended the TriLat AI 2019 – Final Workshop at DfG Head Office in Bonn, Germany, on November 13, 2023.
The project team successfully reported their project AI-Cog – “AI for Aging Societies: From Basic Concepts to Practical Tools for AI-Facilitated Cognitive Training.” JST in Japan has supported our project for RIKEN AIP, DfG in Germany for the University of Freiburg, and ANR in France for INRIA. The team at RIKEN AIP, led by the project PI, Dr. Mihoko OTAKE-MATSURA, and the project co-PI, Dr. Tomasz M. RUTKOWSKI, focused on research for early onset dementia biomarker development from EEG, fNIRS, and eye-tracking behavioral data. The study used EEG and data analysis to predict cognitive decline related to aging. EEG-based neuro-biomarkers could have significant implications for neurology and diagnostic tools. The team’s innovative approach was demonstrated by their ability to reproduce pre-pandemic emotional faces and interior paradigms despite severe experimental restrictions. Their commitment to open science and collaboration reflects their dedication to advancing knowledge in the field.
