The 2024 RIKEN Baiho Award has been presented, as of March 2025, to researchers who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in research and development.
From the AIP center, the following individuals have received the award:
- Futami Futoshi (Visiting Scientist) and Fujisawa Masahiro (Special Postdoctoral Researcher), of the Imperfect Information Learning Team
Awarded for: Theoretical analysis of generalization performance in deep learning based on information theory - Song Jian (Research Part-time Worker) of the Geoinformatics Team
Awarded for: Development of remote sensing image synthesis technology - Ikuko Tsumura (Senior Research Administrator), Akiko Kidera, Kumiko Nakano, Takashi Hoshino, and Emiko Minato (Research Administrators), AIP Director’s Office
Awarded for: Promoting the participation of female students in the field of mathematical and information sciences
The RIKEN Baihou Award is presented annually to approximately 30 individuals or groups in recognition of either “innovative research and development achievements expected to gain high recognition at academic societies” or “outstanding contributions to research support within or outside of RIKEN.”
